Stanford. It has been raking in cash like no other over the past decades. It will rake in even more as the IT millionaires and billionaires age. Right now it’s on par with Yale, Princeton, and MIT, but it will soon rise to the level of Harvard.

Stanford cannot be on the “rise”. Its “rise” ceiling is only a few spots.

Michigan AD Dave Brandon spoke on “60 Minutes” the other day that over 70% of school’s donation occurs during the fall football season, especially so when the team is winning!! Now that the Buckeyes have reached an undefeated season, I expect tOSU’s donation will begin to flood in like never before.

Well, in the case of Ohio State, not only its football team has just achieved an undefeated season, basketball also ranked #3 in the country! Without mentioning all the recent drastic academic improvements under President Gee, the school has also recently joined Common App, and continues to handout National Buckeye Scholarship for qualified OOS students. I therefore predict an additional 25% applications increase to the school next fall!! Go Bucks!! :)

My god, half this thread is about OSU…

I can see USC becoming like Duke, but we CA natives know better. USC kids are still second-rate when it comes to academics. I do admit they have a strong network though, but it’s more quantity than quality.

The big public schools are stagnant. I don’t see their reputations as ever getting better. Financially they will weather the storm, and schools like Berkeley and UCLA will continue to attach top students, but not the Ivy types.

I’m not bullish on any particular school. Chicago has just about peaked, though they may still rise another spot in a decade or so once it’s graduated a few of Nondorf’s classes. Schools that do have an opportunity IMO are well regarded ones with double digit acceptance rates, as students are realizing that the tippy top schools are just too difficult to get into.
