Schools receive ACT scores on different dates?

On Monday I sent in all my college apps (yay!) and also send all my act scores. I only took it twice but I sent both. My app status on Purdue says they have received one, but not the other. And my Pitt app status says they are still waiting on my scores. Does ACT send scores at different times? Do they mail them? It would make more sense to me if they mailed them since act is located closer to Purdue than it is to Pittsburgh. But I'm just curious cuz Pitt is rolling admission so I obviously prefer to have them receive them sooner. Thanks.

First, I do not know precisely how Purdue does it but most colleges with on-line accounts for applicants will show the receipt of only one test score regardless of whether multiple scores are submitted (the purpose of the on-line entry is to show a requirement has been satisfied not to show all scores that have been received).

Second, as to sending, ACT most likely “sent” them at same time. “Send” simply means ACT put the score into the secure on-line account that the particular college has with it. Actual receipt then depends on when the college bothers to go into that account and download scores. Some do it weekly, some every other week. Finally, actually showing it as received on your on-line file with the college then depends on how long it takes the college to match downloaded scores from ACT with the specific files of applicants and that time varies among colleges (and it can be anywhere from days after the download to weeks)

Ok that definitely clears up a lot of things for me. Thank you very much for the reply. Greatly appreciate it :)
