I am a junior from Long Island and am interested in large schools, like Michigan State and UMN, and will probably major in Mathematics or Chemistry. I have a 1920 SAT, a 31 ACT and a 96.36 unweighted GPA. I am an IB diploma candidate and am probably top 5% of my class (my high school doesn't rank students). I am looking for a school that is relatively inexpensive because I would love to not have to take out student loans. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks.

The Ohio State is a good choice since it is quite similar to MSU & UMN & offers several scholarships that can be stacked together;
eg. National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents ($12,000/yr) + [either Maximus (ACT>32 & top 3% of graduating class, $6,000/yr) OR Provost (ACT>29, top 10% of graduating class, $3,000/yr)].

Thank you @trinity7. Any more suggestions?

Well UW Madison could be on your radar but I don’t think it will work out financially.
