Hi,

Does anyone know of schools that are still accepting transfers for Fall 09? I know it's late in the game, but it would really help me out if you could point specific ones out for me.

Here is my situation: I'm a former Cornell University student who got kicked out from the College of Engineering after a disastrous sophomore year. I decided to switch my focus to economics and spent Fall '08 taking classes at the School of continuing education at Cornell while applying to transfer to the College of Arts & Sciences.

At Cornell you have to go through an internal transfer process to switch colleges, and in my case my application was denied because I failed a course that fall. I was told that I could apply again after taking classes elsewhere.

I found the first place that would accept me on such short notice (I'm an international student), CUNY Medgar Evers and enrolled for Spring '09. I did well in most of my courses but got a C in a writing course. This wasn't looked upon kindly by the transfer committee and they rejected my application again. Silly me didn't have any backups in case that happened.

I have more or less given up on Cornell and would like to move on, pick myself up and get a bachelor's degree at a good university (the best I can given my circumstances) and go on to grad school. The university I am at right now is not a good fit for me- I would appreciate it very much if you could help me out with suggestions.

Here are some of my "stats":
@ Cornell: 2.5 GPA, around 75 credit hours. To give you an idea, my GPA was ~3.5 at the end of freshman year.
@ CUNY: 3.3 GPA, 12 credits.

CliffsNotes: International student gets kicked out of Cornell after bungling his sophomore year, goes to the first school he can find for a semester. He is still not accepted back at Cornell and is desperately seeking a good place to attend for Fall '09.
