I am a high school senior, with a 4.0 GPA and 2200 SAT. I am founder and president of the Business and Career Club, a NHS member, Spanish Club leader, and French club member. I am in 5 AP classes this year, and was in 2 last year. ( I received 5s in AP Literature and AP US Gov.) I also take Honors Spanish 4. I played freshman and junior varsity soccer. I played 3 years of highly involved and competitive club soccer. I did a summer enrichment programme for talented youth at DCU in Dublin.

My top choice is Notre Dame, followed by Wake Forest, and Boston College. Other schools I'm applying to are Washington and Lee, UVA, Columbia (father went there), and Tulane.
My counsellor told me he was concerned I did not have any less competitive schools. First I just would like to know how competitive I am for the schools I'm applying too. I would also like to know of any good schools that would be solid backups to apply to.
Thanks.
And if there's anything more you suggest I could add to my resume, please add.

It’s always good to have safety schools just in case. How about your state universities; given your record, I would imagine they would be good safeties.

I live in Maryland, but my parents wouldn’t loan me any money if I went to UMD College Park, because my brother went there and had a bad experience.

In Notre Dame, I like the Catholic base that underlies the education, but does not take control of it. Also, the business school seems to be top tier. ( I want to major in Finance.) WF’s location and 5 year finance and accounting CPA program draw me. Boston College is Jesuit, and I’ve grown up in Jesuit, Catholic schools. Also, it had a good finance program. W&L is like an smaller version of Wake, and really feels Southern. For UVA and Columbia, both are just top of the line universities. I am not very interested in going to either of these schools.

I’ve considered something like Marquette, but I don’t think I would enjoy Milwaukee.
Basically, I’m looking for strong business programs with finance majors. (Its unfortunate, UMD would be a great safety with its finance.)
Thanks

How about Villanova? That’s a good catholic school.

There is also Loyola in New Orleans.

And while not a safety, why aren’t you also applying to Georgetown, which is Jesuit?.

Everyone should apply to one safety, because while your stats are in line for most of the schools you have applied to, there is indeed a chance you could get rejected at them all.

How about Fordham and St Johns in New York City. St Johns is easy to get into. Fordham is probably easier than Boston College.

Yea Villanova is good, but its not safety enough for me. I see my chances at Tulane about the same as at Villanova. And unless I were to go to Columbia, I don’t think I would want to be in NYC ( Fordham, St. John’s). Something like a Virginia Tech would be good ( I dont particularly like VT thought). Georgetown does not appeal to me at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I’ll just apply to UMD as a safety. It would be cheap anyway because its in-state. I’m fairly confident that I’ll get into at least one of my schools though.
