Schools that don't require counselor recs?

<p>What Tier 1 schools (HYPMS, CIT, JHU, WUSTL etc...) don't require counselor recs?
My school allows for only 6 applications to private schools... they'd rather have everyone go to UCB. we have one counselor per 500 students. Where can i apply on my own (without school approval)?</p>

<p>i’m pretty sure they all do. unless you can get a copy of your counselor rec, photocopy it, and send it off on your own (as well as get official transcripts, etc.), you should make a solid list and narrow it down.</p>

<p>Trust me, 6 schools is enough. Just choose your colleges carefully and narrow your list down.</p>
