Schools that have open curricelum

I don't really like the idea of a core curriculum. I like to have some flexibility in my courses I take. What are some top universities/colleges that lack a core. Thanks! On the flip side, which ones have a very large core curriculum?

Brown University
Amherst College
Antioch College
Hampshire College
New College
Sarah Lawrence College
Smith College
Wesleyan University

These are the “Teagle Group” schools that have examined their experience with the Open Curriculum as part of a grant from the Teagle Foundation.

vassar, rice, yale

Yale has distribution requirements. I’m not sure about Vassar and Rice.

Rice also has distribution requirements, but it pretty much allows a lot of freedom.

Pretty much allowing freedom and an open curriculum are different.

Not to say that someone who likes one couldn’t like another, but they’re not the same.

You can add Grinnell to the list.

University of Rochester

Strictest core curriculum: Columbia

You can add Hamilton College to the open curriculum list. They take much pride in it and it is of great appeal to many.
