I wanted go through pre-med and was wondering what schools do more for you in terms of helping you prepare for the MCAT through the courework, etc, and what schools dont really.

Specifically NYU, thanks.

Every single school out there will offer the basic bio, chem, physics, and orgo courses necessary as a pre-med and for doing well on the mcat. NYU is an awesome school and will have plenty of resources for pre-med, including these basic science courses. Personally, I feel I got my best prep for the MCAT during high school in taking AP in bio, physics, and chem. The stuff you do in these high school classes is generally more than enough for doing well on the MCAT. In any case, you shouldn't be worrying too much about which schools are good for pre-med, cuz all of the top schools are good for pre-med. Ok, so maybe its arguable that some are slightly better than others for reasons like grade inflation/deflation/difficulty etc., but that shouldn't be the biggest concern.
