Schools to consider

I’m a current junior at a magnet high school and trying to research schools that would be a good fit for me. I’m interested in studying international relations. My GPA is 97.1138/100 I’m top 7% of my class and I haven’t taken my SAT or ACT yet (I plan to in April). Im president and congressional debate captain on my debate team (I’m going to state in two events this year yay) I’m secretary of my schools Girl Up club (an organization through the UN) and I’m class historian. I volunteer occasionally at a retirement home (not to often hope to more as debate season ends). I’m taking three AP’s this year and plan on taking 5 next year. I have a few schools in mind I’m just not sure if I’m up to par for them (Georgetown and Barnard) so I’m looking for schools that will be academically challenging and fit my passions for international relations and social justice. Thank you to anyone reading

Tufts has fantastic IR and a social justice vibe.

You could read through here for any colleges that might be suitable for your particular interests (interpret the heading broadly):

I suggest you:

–Have a talk with your parents. See if they have any restrictions on where you apply (financial limitations, geographic limitations or anything else).

–Try to narrow down what you want in a college – consider things like size, location (geographic as well as rural/urban/suburban), if you want big time sports/Greek Life or anything else. If you can come up with some more defined parameters the suggestions can be more targeted to your needs.

–You can also google colleges with strong IR programs. I found these lists in a two second search and I’m sure there are other lists you can go through. http://colleges.startclass.com/d/o/International-Relations-and-Affairs http://foreignpolicy.com/2012/01/03/the-top-ten-international-relations-undergraduate-programs/

Don’t know how it slipped my mind before, but Macalester is all about international studies and social justice.
