Schools to look into if doing Pre Med while majoring in English?

Which schools are known for their Pre Med track and English department? I'm thinking NYU or Columbia but I don't know if I have a wonderful chance of getting in.

I'd also like to know, how important are extra curricular to NYU/ Columbia. Are writing contests and such considered EC's?

“I’d also like to know, how important are extra curricular to NYU/ Columbia” Both colleges spell out clearly what features they find in viable candidates. Perhaps your spending time in their admissions webpages would be worthwhile?

You can major in English at just about any college or university in the country, and you can take the pre-med series of courses just about anywhere too. You don’t have to go to a “famous name” college or university to make this possible.

Talk with your parents about how much they can pay for your education, and talk with your guidance counselor about which colleges and universities you are likely to be able to get into with your grades and exam scores. Then start making a longer list.
