Schools w/ Strong Humanities, Small Greek/Party Scene, Quirky kids in the NORTHEAST?

Hey, I'm looking for some schools in the northeast or close by that have strong programs in the humanities, at least decent academic reputations, small greek/party scenes, and overall quirky, happy, friendly people.

If you have any reach schools for me that you think fit this criteria, feel free to add, but I am looking mainly for schools where I have a pretty good shot of getting in, (safeties to mid-matches).

GPA- 3.83/4 UW, taken the most challenging classes at my school
I'm ranked somewhere between 6th and 11th in my class out of 250 students.

One good rec, one "excellent" rec.

I plan to work hard at my essays and supplements and anticipate some pretty "good" essays.

ECs: some strong leadership in my school/community, lots of community service, tons of work experience, a long lasting internship, a bunch of school awards, captain of a varsity sport, a sport outside of school, NHS etc... I don't want to go too much more into detail... I think you get the point

So, can you think of any safeties/matches that fit my criteria. My "list" is currently overflowing with reaches and I'd love to find some schools that fit the bill where I have a good shot at acceptance.

Thank You!! :)

Tufts might be a good one to look at. Greeks do have a presence, but that’s not my scene and it didn’t seem imposing when I visited. Prob wouldn’t be a safety though

Sounds like Boston University might be for you.

I love Tufts and I am definitely applying… but it is another reach school. The thing I don’t like about BU is that it doesn’t really have a campus feel.

Any other suggestions?

Bard, Bates, Skidmore, Vassar, Wesleyan, Connecticut College

You are asking for safeties: might want to look into Wheaton near Boston? if I call it NESCAC lite that will sound disrespectful which I do not mean it to be but it is perhaps a shorthand way to dessribe it–former women’s college, now co-ed, strong academics, was something of a safety school for Smith/Wellesley in the old single-sex days, and it is a good school that probably suffers because it is in a state with so many stellar schools.

Middlebury, Bowdoin, Holy Cross

SUNY New Paltz
