schools where ultimate frisbee is HUGE

based on your experience or knowledge, can you guys run off some colleges? (particularly for an average student)

Towson University. I think that John's Hopkins has a good team too.

maybe the following:
UC Berkeley
Cal State Humboldt
UC Santa Barbara
Carleton
Columbia
East Carolina U
UNC Wilmington
U of Oregon
Stanford
Wilmington C

Carleton for sure. I know that ultimate is big at Williams from personal experience.

It is huge at Stanford but probably not to include an "average" student.

William & Mary has an excellent team.

Frisbee is huge at Carleton and everyone plays it. CUT goes to nationals all of the time.

Go to the ultimate players association -- they have a list of ranked ultimate frisbee schools here: http://www1.upa.org/college/index.html

Come to Reed

berkeley (UGMO! their team is Ugly Monkeys)
UC San Diego is pretty good
UC Santa Barbara
Carleton
Brown
Harvard
Wisconsin
Colorado (theyre awesome)
Stanford
Michigan
etc

well, these are all schools where the team is good, but i dont know if it's huge on campus. I know it is at carleton.

Brown won nationals over the summer.

Oberlin (Flying Horsecows are the most "ultimate" you can get, they breath frisbee and bright colors)
Amherst
Colby
Williams
Carleton
American
Tufts

Carleton -- it was the focal point of one of the postcards they sent me.

looks good... any colleges recruit frisbee players by any chance? there isnt (and will never be) a frisbee club or sport of any kind at my school so I dont know how to show my skill and/or enthusiasm on college apps.

I heard Brown recruits at some of the bigger ultimate high schools, like Amherst Regional and Columbia High School, and that good one in Atlanta, forgot what it was called. They send letters to the admissions offices, etc, but they don't know if it does anything. Maybe think about visiting your top college and practice with them?

Tried that, even at Amherst and Tufts, I stayed overnight with one of the co-captians. They said ultimate is very layed back and most people who join the team can't even throw a forehand, it's not a competitive recruiting team, even at Amherst and Williams. They're just a very spirited group of people that work hard to develop their skills.

I don't think they recruit but Madison has a cult-like following for frisbe, a lot of my friends/teachers went there and are really into it. I mean so into it that they formed a team and practice every day of the summer

university of wisconsin or james madison university? lol

Berekley was recruiting at a tournament I went to, but it was really close to Berekley so I dont know if they do that nationally.
