schools with academic aspects of Swarthmore, but social aspects of Brown

It is possible you will get into none of the schools on your list. Please follow some of the advice here and select some sub-first tier schools like Brandeis, Oberlin, Kenyon, or Bard. Of course, I make this suggestion knowing nothing of your qualifications. If you’re 3.7/1400, then you need to look lower for sure things.

Indeed, Circuit, I hope you’ll learn something about feet and mouth.

“I’m a musician who intends to major in STEM.”

Irrespective of the social scene, in addition to the suggestions above, seems to me you ought to be looking at Caltech.

One Direction meet Big Bang Theory :)

For a musician, who wants to major in a STEM field at an academically challenging school with a laid back atmosphere - check out OBERLIN.

It’s wonderful in all the categories you’ve listed.

I agree there is great science and strong music at Williams, Wesleyan, Brandeis, Hamilton, Bard and Oberlin. Check out Vassar - new science building in progress, also strong academically in the sciences and excellent music. Also just like Brown, Hamilton and Vassar have only a few distribution requirements so you can double major easily if that is important to you. Visit the schools and sit in on a rehearsal if possible. It really helped us to choose!
