I'm very interested in science and am considering applying to boarding schools in the fall. Any recommendation for schools with strong science programs?

Many schools have strong science programs – two schools which have recently expanded their science programming and facilities are Berkshire and Choate. Both quite noteworthy. A girls’ school with an excelect science program is Westover. They have a co-curricular program called WISE (women in science and engineering).

Both Andover and Exeter have excellent sciences, including molecular genetics programs, with opportunities for university affiliated research. Andover has a very good PhD molecular genetics professor, and Exeter teams up with Stanford. Physics is another strength at both A and E.

For STEM students, the math will also be important, inquire into how many students populate the advanced classes. “Independent study” may not be the best option if there are few peers.

I know that Hotchkiss and Exeter are the only 2 schools in NE that have a DNA splicer. I don’t know how that correlates with the level of their science programs, but I assure you that they provide some very great science programs.
