I will be applying as a transfer student later this year and want to get away from the west coast. What schools, other than the Ivy's and MIT (I'm realistic), should I be looking at if I want to get into ChemE? I currently have excellent grades at my community college. Please help.

Haha I was going to suggest Berkeley and Stanford, but then I saw your comment about wanting to leave the West Coast. In that case, UT-Austin, Georgia Tech, UMinnesota, UWisconsin, and UIllinois-Urbana Champaign all have excellent ChemE programs.

don’t forget the Univ. of Delaware, with a ChE program that holds it own with these schools that you have mentioned, in addition to Univ. of Michigan.

Lehigh, Lafayette, Syracuse, University of Rochester, Rowan, Stevens, RPI, WPI, Tufts, Northeastern…

U Minnesota, U Wisconsin, UIUC, U Texas, Purdue, CU-Boulder, Penn State…

If you are planning to go to school in the New Jersey/New York area, Stevens Institute of Technology has the best program. If you are in upstate NY, RPI is very good also. Rutgers has a good program in central NJ.
