<p>Hey, I recently became interested in Economics and I was wondering if you guys know any good undergraduate colleges that have a good Economics reputation/program. It would be great if you can list some "okay" colleges as well since my grades are not "up" to the Ivy Leagues level. Also, what about any of the SUNYs? </p>

<p>I don't know the exact order but I imagine Columbia has the best major program (thats where I'm going and majoring in) followed by NYU but the problem in comparing is that Columbia doesnt have a business schol like NYU only an economics major.</p>

<p>Splitting hairs. The depts are ~ equal.</p>
<p>SUNY: I would consider Stony Brook. </p>
<p>Close to NYC in New Brunswick,NJ is Rutgers.</p>

<p>^^That is true. A lot of people on CC seem to be down on the CAS when in reality the economics department at NYU CAS is top 10 in the world. (The world top 20 is occupied almost entirely by American economics departments.)</p>
<p>to the OP, if not columbia, i would consider NYU - CAS....and if not that, then CUNY Honors College at Baruch (if you're looking for a full ride). although, cuny honors is more selective than nyu cas and sometimes stern. all other options of nyc colleges for economics besides those would be crazy.</p>
<p>p.s. stony brook is about 2 hours away from nyc (besides the campus is pretty much nonexistent). and the only other undergrad SUNY in nyc is the Fashion Institute of Technology. i'm pretty sure they don't offer economics.</p>

<p>Yes, that could be. I said NYU econ was in the top 10, not that it is exactly #10.</p>
<p>actually it was 15. Rankings may be old however. And does it really matter...10 or 15? No, i am just nitpicking</p>
<p>then i believe we are looking at two different rankings. I used UCSD as my source, and i believe those rankings came from US News.</p>
