can someone please recommend some schools with intl. fin aid? i am a canadian student in first year at university of toronto. I hate it here
please recommend some. i know some ivies do, but my stats are not spetacular enough for guarantee admission into any ivy
in fact, i was rejected by them for freshman admission, but now my stats are better, and i appear to be a more hardworking guy, however at the same time, the admission is going to be harsher on transfers so... please recommend some other than ivies

bump, please help, i am a transfer and i am very mediocre, no competition against any of you
please

Do a search of colleges on collegeboard.com or usnews.com and check each individual college website. Also ask on the transfer forum!

I'm not sure if they give finaid to international transfers, though.

Hope this helps.

don't know about canadian citizens, but most univs don't give fin aid to intls applying as transfers. good luck, though.

I don't know about that but some schools treat Canadains like US
so you may have chance to get aid as an transfer

" but most univs don't give fin aid to intls applying as"

well Lakshmi I think there arent that many universities which give finaid to international freshman students let alone the transfer students.

it depends if the finaid to intel freshmen are need-based or merit-based. There are more schools giving intel freshmen aid (either of them) than intel transfer money. There are even some schools that (darn them) don't take intel tranfers!

vampiro...there are schools giving fin aid to intls otherwise you wouldn't see many of us here applying. it's true they don't give as much fin aid as they do to US citizens, but intls have still got a chance ;)

If you intend to transfer, I think it's practically hopeless. A freshman admit can get aid, but most colleges/universities rule out financial aid for transfer students.

There are LACs which have the same financial aid policy for transfer students as with freshmen.

Also being a canadian will qualify you to aid along with US ppl or special programs at sum of the top schools..

SM

In the past, Caltech is the easiest college to get into. But now they cease providing FA to int'ls

yeah lakshmi.. that's true. If they didn't give us finaid, many of us wouldn't be here. I got in ED 2 at a liberal arts college w/ almost full financial aid. However, I too think they don't give a lot of finaid to transfer int'l students.
