I know Northwestern has a Honors Program in Journalism and Engineering, but are there any other schools that has this same type of program or will allow you to double major in these two subjects? How is the program/school rated in these two subjects?

columbia has a VERY strong journalism program, and they have a very good engineering school as well (not MIT, berkeley caliber of course)

since you want to do both, you should consider the 3-2 program at columbia. you do your major at columbia college in 3 years and then transfer to its engineering school for 2 years

DanE Sorry, Columbia has an excellent journalism graduate program but NO undergraduate program at all Im surprised at how common a misconception this is.

Cannonball dont want to discourage you, but double majoring in engineering and journalism is not really possible at Northwestern they offer incredible programs in both, but second majoring out of Medill is almost always in Arts and Sciences. UMaryland and USC have strong engineering and journalism programs but, again here, given the deep requirements in engineering, a double would likely either not be possible or only so in at least 5 years. Also might consider Emory - they offer a small journalism program available as a second major (only) and a 3/2 program in engineering at Georgia Tech.

Ultimately, you may be best served pursuing engineering only and doing the usual school journalism/summer internship thing. There is always the option for a journalism masters down the line. If youre not wedded to engineering but would consider doubling in a science and journalism, that IS possible at probably all the schools above and (although difficult) possible in 4 years.
