So I’m a junior in high school and I was hoping for some advice in which colleges to apply to for nursing. I know generally it’s fairly competitive. My home state is Florida so I would like to either stay here or remain on the east coast. The west coast or something similar is not an option for me due to cost. I know UM has direct admission anyone know other colleges in Florida or the east coast that have direct entry? Is there any way to find out what scores and GPA you need to get into for example Clemson or UM for nursing?
Be very suspicious for for-profit nursing programs in Florida. They have a bad history.
It always makes sense to start with your own in-state public universities, and then to look at other options where you have a good chance at need-based or merit-based aid.
This list of direct entry nursing programs has been compiled by many people. However, there are quirks at many schools, and some only offer direct entry for top students or have other conditions. The list is not perfect, and is an initial screening device. Read the fine print on each college’s website.
There are few direct entry programs in the southeast US, but tens of them in the northeast US.

Try to find out info on how difficult it is to be admitted as a nursing major at public colleges in your state, particularly if you need to apply after your second year. If it is very difficult, it may make more sense to look at direct entry colleges in other states, to reduce your risk of not being admitted later. If you email the nursing dept., some will provide you with the data on percent admitted, etc.
