I'd have to say that the honor would be for UCLA and Peppersine what do you guys think? This summer has been awesome there have been some really good waves this last couple of weeks. I usually go to zuma or manhattan beaches any of you socalers know of any other good spots?

UC Santa Barbara for best weather and nice beaches.

UCSD for surfing i hear.

I heard good things about Biola.

Second the thoughts about Biola University. It's nestled right inbetween LA and the OC. You really can't beat the location.

Ditto UCSD surfing. Nearly a full third of undergrads have a surfboard.

UCI...Newport Beach 5 minutes, Laguna Beach 10 minutes..Huntington Beach 15 minutes..LA 45 minutes SD 45 minutes

How far are you willing to go? I hear Australia has some fantastic beaches, as does New Zealand. Also, Vice did an article about some island that's nothing but students.

as far as that states go San Diego has the best weather hands down. you can wear sandals year round here its ridiculous.

University of Hawaii. Best weather, best beaches. hands down =)

Cornell has the best weather no questions asked.

SD has nice weather but the people..blehhhh

I couldnt agree more ijflexi...the reason I'm leaving!

whats wrong with the people in SD? elaborate

University of Hawaii nothing compares!

cali? hawaii?!?! cornell?!!?!??!

go to umich for the best weather!

Pepperdine, San Diego State, UC San Diego, U of San Diego, Hawaii State, Hawaii Helo, Miami, Miami St, Biola

UChicago =D =D

What is wrong with people in san diego....??? i live here and i am leaving as well, but i just dont like the family.

The best SoCal surf/beach spots are: Black's Beach (La Jolla), The Wedge (Newport Beach), Bay Street (Venice), Zuma (Malibu), Pt. Dume (Malibu), County Line (Ventura). As much as I love UCLA, I have to say that Pepperdine takes first place in terms of beach/weather locale. Anyone who has been there knows what I'm talking about. You got Zuma, Pt. Dume, County Line, and Trestles all within an earshot. Those are some of the best point breaks in the world. On a good day you easily get 10-12' swells. Best place in CA though is by far Mavericks in Santa Cruz. Those waves up there are no joke; however, the water is teeming with sharks.

Ijflexi is way off: the people in OC are "blehhh." San Diego people are laidback and nice. With that said, the fact you can wear sandals all year isn't that exciting, unless you are really, really an outdoor person who thinks weather is super important.
