Where's that list from?

its a website which ranks schools with a letter grade. CC won't let me say it, but feel free to PM me.

It rhymes with College Growler and is around $40 to join. It's kind of interesting, with ratings in at least 30 different areas, such as dorms, dorm food, and the local area around the college. Students do the reporting.

several schools are missing from the list even though they have an entry with the publisher. i don't know why. here are the schools that i thought might be worth added to the list:

B+ Ohio Wesleyan University
B- Earham College
C+ Hampshire College

How are the military schools rated? (West Point) Guys asked about other guys? (What's the small percent of females there?) :)

I agree with the top 3.

Yes, that's something I don't understand since CC lists CP's rankings.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visits/college_rank_summary.html

vanderbilt

Just for kicks, I played around with this list. Here are the colleges according to their USNWR Top 50 national universities and Top 25 LAC ranks. I don't see any pattern here other than the fact that publics generally graded higher than the privates. But to me, there were several pleasant surprises (Yale, Lehigh, Middlebury) and a few that I thought were a little harsh (Carnegie Mellon, Rice, Emory, Williams).

Obviously this stuff is only for entertainment purposes as beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, but for those posters who often ask for schools with the "hot" boys and/or girls, you could probably do worse than this list.

The ratings are fairly accurate, but let me add on a few other perceptions from what I've gathered.

In terms of attractive females, the SEC takes it, PAC 10 close behind.

There was a CBS article rating each of the SEC schools, I found it quite riveting reading.
ClayNation: No losers when ranking girls of SEC - CBSSports.com

A list of schools that are particularly notorious for this category for both genders:
Ohio U Athens
ASU/Arizona
Auburn
Florida State
Georgia
LSU
Duquesne
Loyola Marymount
Pepperdine
San Diego/SDSU
Miami Ohio
Colorado
UCLA
Clemson

Probably missing a couple... But you get an idea.
This is clearly the most important factor when choosing a college.

Those letter grades are females only I think, males are different.

Hmm....

Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette, Colgate, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, and Boston College come to mind...

Well, thanks for clearing up that little mystery. I've finally figured out how my son chose his college. The schools at which he was accepted range from D+ to A+ and all scores in between.

He chose the A+.

And I thought it was because of the scholarship!

that'a boy

I have to disagree with the University of Nebraska one.. anyone who has ever been to a Nebraska football game at Memorial Stadium can vouch for that.

USC

charchar10

well it's definitely no surprise that most of the cali colleges have As
