Hi, I'm a rising senior looking into universities or LACs that either are known for generous financial aid or meet all financial needs. I also want to major in the visual arts with a focus on graphic design but many schools only offer studio art majors that focus on the traditional. However, while researching, I found that UPenn and Duke offer Visual Studies majors that I find very interesting because they seem to be marriages between the visual arts and a study on society. Is there anywhere else that would offer a similar sort of major? Thanks.

I don’t think you’ll find too many programs that focus on the expanded visual studies approach similar to Penn and Duke, but you might check out these:

It might be worthwhile to check out programs at Canadian and Australian universities, too.

Idk if you’d be able to get concentrated training in graphic design in a visual studies program, however.
