schools without a party reputation

Weskid,

To respond to your comment regarding Ohio Wesleyan. The school was on PR's list for students "Who never stop studying" in 01-04 http://www.stlawu.edu/netnews/collegeguides03.html

It is not without its parties, but if there are, it is "study hard, party hard" environment.

Bennington has great theme parties, but is really not a party school. Of course their are people here that "party" but also plenty that don't and it is never an issue.

whoops, missed that midwest part, sorry

Any ideas on schools without partying beyond the midwest would be appreciated.

maybe someone has a good reason why they don't want to be surrounded by students who place partying a higher priority than school.

There are many reasons why a person may not want to drink: maybe they have a physical condition that requires medication that prohibits drinking; maybe they are a recovering alcoholic; maybe it's a religious choice. Instead of knocking it, why don't you respect someone for have the foresight to know they will be miserable in a place that disregards their chosen lifestyle. The OP never said why they don't want a party atmosphere, and responders can answer without calling into question the OP's motivation. Whatever the reason is you choose not to party, it is reasonable to want to surround yourself with those who live a similar lifestyle.

Denison? Are you kidding? It's a frat-based, heavy drinking school.

Check out www.campusdirt.com for student reviews of schools, including lists of party schools and those with students who "live in the library." If you are really opposed to partying, go to Brigham Young or one of the military academies.

veryscary: Do you or did you go to school at Denison? I'm just curious where you get your information.
