What are the best schools in bio/bme/or be?

Right now I'm looking at

Georgia Tech, UCSD, and Duke.

Also add Rice and WashU

I was also thinking harvard and BU

are they good?

Harvard for engineering? Ehhhh

You need some safeties. We can’t accurately provide them unless you post your stats, but U Pittsburgh and U Utah might both be options.

Add Case Western Reserve as well.

I agree with noimagination–make sure you have safeties!

Take a look at Rose Hulman…great school and ranked very high in schools without a phd.

You may also want to look at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. They have a world class Biotechnology center and undergrads are encouraged to do research.

The student body is also quite strong. The 25th - 75th percentile SAT for the class of 2013 is 1270 - 1450, with mean score about 1360.

I am biased but Northwestern has an awesome undergrad engineering program. The school has invested a lot in the undergrad program. The curriculum is unique with more emphasis on creativity and design than many other programs.

The University of Washington’s program isn’t bad either (slight bias here, but the truth is evident). Having one of the very very best medical schools in the country also helps, since the UW bioengineering program is jointly administered by the UW School of Medicine and the College of Engineering.
