<p>Does the SHC look at the personal statement that is optional on the regular Penn State application?
I could use my common app essay for the personal statement or one of the three required essays for SHC. I would rather leave the optional personal statement blank and use the common app essay for one of the required ones.
Is the personal statement just used by getting accepted into regular admission, and then the only thing the SHC sees is the three required essays? Or can the SHC see everything, and leaving the personal statement blank negatively effect my chances of getting in? Thanks for any help.</p>
<p>I would imagine that the SHC has access to your regular admissions file since you don’t have to submit additional transcripts/test scores.</p>
