Schreyers

Im a juniorr and im wondering what does PSU Schreyers/honors look at more? GPA,SAT or extra currics

I don’t know, but my educated guess is that GPA is far more important that ECs. That’s the only thing that really matters to you in terms of what you can control. If you have to choose between an extra EC and GPA (such as giving up an EC to have study time to bring up your GPA), then strictly from the perspective of what matters more to admission, I’d choose GPA 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

That is not to say that what a college considers in its admission process is the only consideration when you’re choosing how to balance your time. Talk to your parents about that and see what their values and advice are.

GPA will still be the most important factor, but the scores and EC’s (leadership/service) seem to be a dominant factor too. You may be able to find Common Data Sets specific to the honors college? I have no idea, but google for 2011 and see what comes up. I do see that they don’t have specific GPA/Score criteria (cut offs), so I’d say you apply if you think you are a candidate.

[How to Apply: Schreyer Honors College](<a href=“404 Error: Page Not Found - Schreyer Honors College (SHC) at Penn State University”>404 Error: Page Not Found - Schreyer Honors College (SHC) at Penn State University)

Does anyone know if SHC looks at midyear grades?

You will get a better answer at the penn state portion of this site.

My understanding is that Scheyers specifically does not look at Sat scores. The essays are important.
