Schulich vs. UToronto vs. Queens

Which business program in Ontario do you think is better for undergrad:
Schulich
University of Toronto Commerce
Queens Commerce
I want to attend a school with good international rep. as I probably will be leaving Toronto and going over to the states for my MBA. I'm also interested in a career as an Investment banker so which has the best finance program/finance job placements.

Atkinson at York U

Queens without a doubt...

are you serious? Queens commerce has the best int. reputation?? I was under the impression that only people in Ontario would know about it.for what reasons do you say Queens....

It's better than either toronto or york... toronto might be a good university for engineering and sciences, but it sucks for commerce- the entering average is somewhere in the high 70s. I have a congential distaste for york, but I still believe queens is much more selective program than schulich

hey ppl. i would love to hear from anyone who has applied from canada.
And about the universities York would be the best from the list.I guess mcgill's the best. but york is very good.

My understanding is that for business, Queens University has the best program and reputation in Canada. I think University of Western Ontaio is also supposed to have a very good business program.

i don't know, from what i hear from everyone it's all schulich this and schulich that. or ivey this or ivey that (richard ivey i believe that one in western for business). that's just the reputation that i personally hear though i really don't know for sure about their programs since i am going into the fine arts

hey sammmy...
i was going through this forum and saw your question.well as far as i know(from ppls tudyin in canadian unis)...univ of toronto is best for finance and economics and it is one of the most well known unis in north america........as for schulich..it is best for international business.......
queens is a great school too...but i sunno much details about it.....i myself got my admission in UofT n york.....n i think i will choose UofT as i prefer finance and obviously the NAME!
so goodluck:D

Hi, I'm an international who applied to the university of toronto. They received all the required documents on March 13, 2006; yet my application has not been reviewed as yet.

Also, when I check the application status, it clearly says that the documents have been received but in the 'notes' section, they have written- "transcript, predicted grades". However, I definitely sent these materials.

Can anybody please clarify why my app has not been reviewed and why those two documents are mentinoed in the "notes" section?

How's the finance program at Schulich?is it strong because i know it's major strength is accounting but whats the chances of getting recruited by an Investment Bank if you choose to go there.

hey as far as i know...UofT commerce has the BEST finance n economics.....schulich is best for international business.....n waterlooo is best for accounting!

Queens and Ivey are consistently ranked one and two for business in Canada by numerous sources. While UT may have a strong econ + finance program, the sheer size of the undergraduate population can act as a deterrance for anyone interested in the school. As far as I know, UWO has the most flexibility in its programs, one of my close friends is doing a eng/business degree there, she's finishing in only five years.

I'm from Alberta, and here most commerce-bound students are applying to UBC, Queens and UWO-Ivey.

jeez i am getting more and more confused now..i thought i would end up in univ of toronto.....got my queens admission yesterday.now i am confused..where i actually shud go for commerce:S
as for UofT population....a frend of mine who studies commerce 4th yr...said that from second year the student number gets really small..as they are very selective abut commerce students..........so its better....as you start commerce from 2nd year.....i am so CONFUSED:'(

U of T commerce!!!

I applied for commerce (eco/finance) at UofT and Queens and got into both. If your going for the most prestige I'd choose UofT. Queen's however is smaller, and is known for its commerce programs.
I chose UofT tho cuz Queens seemed a bit "isolated" from any big cities, and there r probably more options at UofT. Anyway gd luck!
