Sci Olympiad

How much does Science Olympiad help on college apps if at all?
I did one year of it in 8th grade:
two 1st at regional
two 1st, two 3rd at state
one 3rd, one 4th at national

Our team got 4th overall.

You could include any high school contests you competed in successfully while still in middle school, but I wouldn't include middle school contests on your college apps even if you did really well. Sounds like you need to get involved in some high school things. How about high school Sci Olympiad, or Sci Bowl?

Yeah I do, but our high school doesn't offer many academic competitions besides academic decathlon.
What individual competitions can I join that colleges like?

<a href="http://www.academiccompetition.org/contests.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.academiccompetition.org/contests.html</a></p>

Did 'em, didn't win anything at all, wrote on my app that I tried, still got into college.
May as well.

never join aca deca. it is just a load of memory work. which is only bearable if u really really enjoy the subjects

You mention nationals. . . High levels of competition usually sound good, but since you didn't stick with it, maybe that would be a bad sign? anyone else have thoughts
I'm in sci-oly though, and its a lot of work, and science looks good. Usually admissions reps say not to go before high school, but i have seen some that say include it if it is a MAJor accomplishment and nat. comp can be...

Im pretty far off from college admissions.
I was just wondering how much a year of hard-work sci-olympiad was worth.
I would've continued but I moved to a school that doesn't have it.
I'm trying the Dupont essay...I just started and have till the 17th :/
