Science Course Selection Help?

Hi,
I was thinking about which courses I want to take in high school, so I can figure out a way to fit them all in, and so far I have come up with this…

9th - Honors Biology (taken)
10th - Honors Chemistry (in sophomore year now)
11th - Anatomy and Physiology
12th - ECE Physics

ECE is a UConn course taught at a HS. It says it covers 1201Q (intro to physics) as well as 1202Q in the second semester. My question is…

Would I be able to take ECE Physics without Honors Physics? Would the 1201Q basically be HS physics and 1202 is college?
Thanks!

If ECE is anything like AP Physics 1, then yes. I suggest you take a look at the AP credits for UConn. If you get credit for 1201Q and/or 1202Q by scoring well on AP Physics 1 (or C), then you should be good to go. It’s an intro anyways, so unless your school has specific standards (I.e. Must take honors/reg science before taking AP or college), then you should be able to take it.

@coffeeaddicted thanks! ECE is different from AP and you don’t need to take a “special” exam like AP, you just take the class as if you were at a college, so you have a midterm and final. I looked at a sample syllabus for 1201 and it said it begins with two dimensional vectors, that’s pretty basic, right?

If ECE is General Physics 1, you need 1 unit of Physics in order to succeed, even if it may not be required to take it. Your odds of succeeding would be pretty low though. Why do you take Anatomy&Physiology, are you hoping to go into nursing? The right order would be Honors Physics junior year and ECE senior year.

@MYOS1634 I hope to go into SLP and ECE is Gen Physics I and II
