If I take more science courses than the requied medical school requiements, will that impress the medical school admisions office? Seems pointless, tho, coz i heard you only need high GPA...

The kids who major in sciences take well over the med school requirements.

You need far more than just a GPA.

As laststop said, there are many applicants who will be taking way more than the minimum requirements.

In addition to a good GPA, you need a good MCAT score, good letters of rec, involvement on campus, volunteering and/or shadowing and/or research. You need a well crafted personal statement, and you need to nail the interview. The road to being a doctor does not begin and end simply with GPA and the courses you took (in part because it is nearly impossible to judge a GPA from place to another)
