Science GPA (quick question)

I know that science gpa includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math courses. My question is whether or not a remedial math course would be added into the science gpa. It is added into my cumulative gpa, but would it be added into my science gpa? I was sick on the day of the math placement test and I could concentrate, ended up taking a remedial math course first semester, but then skipped a math course and was in the "normal" math. What do you think? Would an Elementary Algebra course be added into my science gpa? Thanks in advance.

Math is math, so the answer is yes. You will also probably have to answer the "why is a smart guy like you taking remedial math?" to the adcom interviewers.

Since you don't say when this occurred, schools are more forgiving of Freshman mis-steps but since they don't have a lot of classes to contribute to the GPA everything counts. This would include those little community college classes that everyone is fond of while they are in high school.

Well I'm a science major so I'll have more classes to contribute to the science gpa, I am going to also take 1 year of calculus. So I hope that also proves to them that I am proficient in math. Thanks for your reply gizmo.

Do all engineering courses factor into the science GPA?
Also, do med schools expect lower science GPAs than overall GPAs because they are inherently harder than other classes, or do they expect higher science GPAs than overall? I realize that ideally they "want" the highest GPAs possible, but is it typical for an accepted med school student to have a science GPA that is higher or lower than the overall?
