Hey ccers,

Just how important is the science GPA? And around where should it be?
I ask because first semester was a bit disappointing, and it will be hard to bring it up to higher than a 3.4 or 3.5 or so. Would this look that bad next to a 3.6 overall GPA?

About as important as overall. Depends on where you want to go and where you are now. ... obviously it's not as good as a 3.6, which wouldn't be as good as a 3.7, which... well, you get the idea.

Premed today is really becoming baller. I.E. the old 3.7 is becoming a 3.8 and the old 30 mcat is becoming a 33...

A std. dev for applicant GPA is around 0.25 grade points so, yes, a 3.4 is significantly worse than a 3.6.
