Hi CC,
I want to work on my grades this year. I normally get low/mid As (92-96), even when I think I studied at a "100" level. I had 95 averages in almost all of my classes last year, (except LA:98, and electives,100) and even though those aren't bad grades, I know I can do better. For math, I know it is a matter of doing a lot of practice problems (my tried and true method to getting 100s on tests). For Science, I don't know how to do better. Everyone says its a matter of memorization, but I never know what is important information, and how to apply what I have learned to [science] test questions. I need a specific method on how to study enough information or how often I should look over the information, or how far ahead I should learn--just something that will help. Do any of you A+ science experts have any study methods you can share? How do you study the day or week before a test? How often do you look at the info you need to know?

Also, if you can, please comment any good articles or (answered) CC threads that relate to my situation with a link. Thanks!
P.S. I accidentally posted this in the AP Sciences section, so if you saw this there, it is actually supposed to be under this High school life section.

I’ll link some threads soon (i.e when I’m less tired), but what are you getting marked down on? Is it just tests/quizes?

I am mainly having trouble on tests and quizzes. I also had trouble with science projects, but those were pretty subjective.

Did you talk to the teachers throughout the year? Most teachers don’t like students messing up, and I’m sure that most would willing to explain in detail what you could do better and if there would be any extra credit.

@Apollo11 Unfortunately, there usually isn’t extra credit, and most teachers aren’t so willing to give away all of their test secrets. I think that straight, high A science students might be more willing to share their study habits than teachers will be to share their test tricks.

It’s too bad that you weren’t here earlier in the summer when a thread about studying techniques became really popular. I’ll dig it up but it’s buried after weeks and weeks of my spamming

@Apollo11 Thank you for digging out all of these threads I missed. Though I have been reading CC stuff for a long time, I just made an account, and I don’t know much about the popular threads. You’ve been commenting on a lot of my posts and I can’t tell you how much this helps. Thanks!

Which of the SAT ACT prep skills would help with science? The methods in general, or…?

The test prep part of the forum…

So essentially, the methods in general, since the tests are essentially set up the same as normal tests

See post #9

Sorry, I accidentally reposted my question… I’m new at this lol

Don’t worry, the saved draft thing has caused me to repost a lot too. You just want to check if things have already posted and always clear out the box before you start typing a post
