English - 35
Math - 34
Reading - 36
Science - 29

Composite:33

One more point in any section would have given me a 34. I’m pretty much ****ed.

i" heard colleges look mostly at E & M…
i hope so? did anybody hear this fact?"

The admissions counselor told me that TODAY when I was visiting a prospective college. She said they also look at Composite.

Reading is important. Science is not that important. But depends on what college

IIRC, they send different tests to Sunday test takers of the SAT than they do to the Saturday test takers of the same month ( I remember hopping in here one day to see you guys discussing quesitons and I remember none of them being on my SAT)

is it the same for ACT? Did everyone have the science sectio nwith the meiosis and whatnot?

O.o English is important? You would think that they’d claim Reading and Math to be important. Science may not be THAT big of a deal, but still. Also, which admissions counselor is this?

well ppl take ACT’s inlieu of SAT I & IIs… which means the science kinda counts as an SAT II…

and SAT II arent as important as SAT I’s
:)

and i have no idea why Eng is more important than Reading… but thats how colleges do it and i have no complaints haha

Yuuuuup. Behold a glorious 25 for science…WHY!!!

Yeah, no kidding. I got a 25 in science too…
So, should I send in my ACT score with a higher science/math or my overall highest composite if I am going to be a chem major? (applying to UC berk)

sheltie: did you take SAT’s also? If your math is higher on SAT’s send both SAT and higher ACT composite. Also, have you taken AP Calc..that would help offset your below 30 math score (I’m not a mind-reader; I saw your other post)…If no SAT’s, sATII’s, send both ACT’s; they will figure out which one is best for your major…

I have no clue how I got a 29 on science, I basically pulled that out of nowhere.
I really don’t think you need science skills but rather good guessing skills.
I doubly feel the pain though, 25 math.

science section of the ACT is the easiest thing in the world compared ot the other sections. its like graphs abt plants

but its not for all of us i guess

ur right. If i had adhd and had extended time, a 36 would be ridiculously easy.

Let’s just say that I hateee the ACT. Maybe I’ll take it again in December just for fun. Hahaha. I could technically stick to my SAT scores, but what if I can do better on the ACT… grr…

How do yuo think the curve was for those of you that got the score?

I got a 25 in science like several of you up^ there. However, I feel incredibly grateful! In September, I felt like I provided fantastic answers…definitely in the 30’s, right? I was leveled with a 22!

Last month, the passages were killer, and I said “screw this” and randomly bubbled in on the last 30. I got a 25. Go figure?

Alright good because for some reason, I felt as though when I do crappy, I get better results, kinda strange.

bubbled in on the last 30!!!1? holy cow now i feel like a idiot i only got a 27 haha. but ya that science was insanity.

I know, I was shocked, too. I expected something waaaay below 20 and had already signed up for December. I’m still not happy with that 25, but it was shocking and at least I have something a bit better to send Marquette’s direction. (Their application is due much earlier than the rest of my schools…my composite is 28, but the science killed me the first time!)

Heh, thanks Rodney. Yeah, I got a 5 on the AB, and I’m taking BC this year. I did better on my SAT math than ACT math, so I guess I should send both.
And none of this would be a problem if my scores were at all consistent!
