Umm so we are having tryout for the state regional teams...

I know that it will be fun and i shouldnt think of it in terms of college, but does making state for this competition really matter on applications? I am also considering this because i have to study for the AMCs and USNCO local test, so i dont want to waste my time doing something useless (im guessing amc-usnco way more important than this right)?

is this competition just some thing (like National Honor Society) with a fancy name but really not that much substance?

i already have usamo, arml national, other state awards (maybe usnco), going to do research (probably siemens semi since my prof is good), and probably a lot more things that i focus on and care about. should i bother with this competition?

i dont want to sound like im lazy and dont try, but i just do not wnat to spend my time on something i really dont like/may not have time for..also we had this club for the last 2 years and i didnt even try out, the only reason i signed up and paid 25 bucks was because my friend wanted me to do it...

thanks
