Do you all know of any science or math programs that don't need a recommendation? Any of them? I'd just like to know all of them so I can maybe find another summer program to apply to. I'm not really planning to get in to these programs, but would still like to apply! I am in 9th grade and a URM, so programs for under-represented minorities work too.

Anyone, please? I’d just like to get in one more application. The UCLA nanoscience one didn’t need a recommendation, but the application fee was $150. I couldn’t pay that.

Try Economics for Leaders. I don’t think a rec. is needed.

Thanks, too bad I’m too young for that one.

What state or city are you in? How far can you afford to travel?

@LanaHere I am in Southern California. I’m not really considering money right now, I just want to see all the options so I can maybe apply to one. I would like to see all the options. From those, I will choose where to apply. I will also apply for financial aid if that’s available.

This is for high school juniors, but they do take some sophomores. Even if you don’t use the information now, save it and apply in 2 yrs. SSP Summer Science Program. I will post some more later… http://www.summerscience.org/admissions/faq.php

This is MITES, a MIT program for minorities. Apply when during your first semester of your junior year. Read the instruction for the deadline, usually in Feb. <a href=“MITES – MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering and Science”>MITES – MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering and Science;

BTW- tuition to MITES is free as well. Tution to SSP Summer Science Program is free if you submit your parent’s income statement, verifying that you are low income. Anyways, apply to this program ( MITHS) during the 1st semester of your junior year. If accepted, tution will be free. (Pay attention to the deadline dates for these programs)

Thanks. I look at those.
