Science Programs and Clubs

I'm a new member to this site and the past few days I have been looking over RD results of top colleges. I have noticed that many people that got accepted into the school joined many clubs and have acquired many awards. I'm a freshman this year but I have not done any anything that I can show off; I really want to start before it's too late. I also want to join the Science Bowl next year and I was wondering how I can prepare for that. Also what are some things I can do right now to help me achieve the many-awards-many-extracurricular-activities status? (I mainly focused on science because I want to pursue a path way involving chemistry/physics)

I’m a sophomore but same story with me- I have several posts about this same issue. Some answers I got were- start a science club, participate in the intel and siemens science contests, do the Science Olympiads, do some research program in the summer, etc. Anyone else have any ideas?
