Hi guys,

A lot of top science colleges require that you take 4 years of science in high school. However, I was wondering if they really mean 4 courses of science. For example, I took Physics as a freshman, Chemistry as a sophomore, and I am planning to take AP Physics C and AP Biology in junior year. Is it okay if don't take a science class as a senior?

Thanks in advance

Ideally you will take science all four years, it is because it means you will be well-rounded and should be taking your core subjects all the way through.

At my school the curriculum is physics-chemistry-biology. I would have pushed AP Physics C to senior year, but I was planning to use that for an SAT Subject test, so I need it earlier. Would you recommend taking AP Bio as a senior, even if it means I won’t be with a lot of my grade?

Yes, take AP Bio senior year, it means you will have science all four years and will also keep up the rigor on your transcript.

That sounds good. Thanks for your help.
