Science score

Ok, this is my 1st post, so go easy on me! Last time i took the ACT, my science score was WAY lower than it should have been. I think one of my problems was just the time constraints. Any pointers on how to fix this?

don't read the passage unless you have to. And honestly, get used to the instructions... it doesn't sound like a great tip. But I found myself once wasting 4 minutes reading the wrong figures or experimens and things like that.

But for the most part, all the one's that contain graphs should be the fastest section of the science for you. The parts called "fighting scientists" or "experiments" that contain no graphs, will generally take the longest.

The most important thing on the experiments with graphs is to first look at the variables, x vs y or what not. This will usually indicate what kind of experiments these kids are doing.

Good luck sir ^__^

Ok, heres a super amazing tip that can save you over 10 minutes (doing this saved me around 15)

-Quickly, maybe 5 seconds, skim over the graphs/tables
-Go straight to the questions and label where (only if it gives you a specific place to go to) the question is referencing. If, lets say, question #2 corresponds with Table 1, put a 2 next to table 1.
-Now you are ready to answer the questions. Read the question, but COVER UP the answer choices. Try to formulate your own answer. Your answer is usually paraphrased, if not exactly, what the real answer is. Believe me, this works! this will point you to the right answer and shun you away from the tricky wrong ones. if you can make your own answer, you wont waste time second guessing yourself.

Adopt these steps, and you will be well on your way to doing well on the section. I got a 30 on science by doing this (meaning that i missed about 3-5 questions). That trick is MAGIC. saves you SO MUCH TIME!
