Science?

I fell in love with Chapel Hill when I visited. (Who didn't?) But how strong is Chapel Hill's science program overall in comparison to other top schools? Are there any weaknesses? Do the large class sizes interfere with learning?

thanks.

Well one of the science professors at UNC just won the nobel prize in physiology/medicine, so the science program at UNC certainly isn't weak.

Courses at UNC are small relative to its size, actually. See here for course sizes.

Chemistry is arguably Carolina's best science department, followed by biology. Geology and physics are also strong. I've taken a couple of geology/marine science courses at UNC and enjoyed them.

thanks.. the class sizes stuff was very helpful!
