Scientific computing grad schools?

So basically, scientific computing is my main fundamental area of interest. The only thing is that there don't seem to be many areas for grad students to be specialized in.

The areas of largest overlap are statistics, applied math, and computer science. By this time, I'd prefer to work on problems applied to science (they're definitely applied/non-theoretical from the math/stat/CS point of view, but theoretical from the science point of view).

But lots of science fields have research that overlap very highly with scientific computing. E.g. I'm an astrophysics major, so the bulk of my grad school applications will be for astro departments (although I also have a math major and many applied math/stat/CS courses). I'd like to diversity my grad school choices a bit though (since my background is quite unusual for a prospective astrophysics student), so I'm also interested in grad schools with a more general approach towards scientific computing.
