Score Choice and Submission

I signed up for 2 subject tests and the regular SAT. When I signed up it asked me to pick 4 colleges I can send my scores to before i actually apply. Do I need to send them ahead of time? Can I just send the scores when I apply to college? With the score choice does that mean that if i took the same two subject tests 2 times each and only wanted to send certain scores I could? I really don't understand how it works at all. Can someone give me a general overview?

You don’t have to use any of the 4 free score sends. You can use up to 4 for each sitting, and can include any of your previous test scores. When you select a college (or scholarship program) to receive your scores, you will then be given all your scores and you will check a box for what specific scores you want sent.

College Board really annoys me because to me, it acts like a money grubbing business that will get you for everything. You pay $45 and they give you 4 free scores that you can send, but you have to send them before you actually get the scores. You are unsure how you do so you don’t want to send the scores blind so you wait. Later on, if you want to send, they charge you $10 or $12 that probably cost them pennies to send electronically. You are not sure whether you should sign up for the next test date because you have not gotten the score from your previous test. Of course, they will not release the score from previous test until a few days after the deadline for the next test. If you wait, and you end up paying a late fee to sign up for the next test if you want to take it again. Now, they give you Score Choice, it is even a bigger incentive now to wait to send any scores so that you can pick and choose only the best scores to send instead of sending scores blind. Also if you send a score to a school, you need to pay again to send scores from later test dates when most schools either super scores or require that they see the scores of all the tests. I think they have it down to science on how to get the most money from people by providing this asinine bureaucratic procedures so they can charge you more.

Ok thanks I get it now. Wow, I never realized the extent of their nickel and diming! Its pretty sad, you have no choice but to give into their endless fees.
