I understand score choice and SAT scores, but I think I also read that Yale is requiring that students send all ACT scores. My daughter is using her SAT scores since they are better than her ACT scores. Does she really need to send the ACT scores to Yale? Officially or just list them on the common app? Are there any other schools that want all scores?

For Yale, if you intend to rely only on SAT scores, you need not report any ACT scores: [Instructions for Reporting Your Scores | Application to Yale College | Freshmen | Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.yale.edu/admit/freshmen/application/score_reporting.html)

You really need to check each other college to which she is applying for its actual rules. Some that have rejected score choice require all scores, SAT and ACT, some like Yale require all SAT if you rely on it or reporting all ACT if you rely on it, some want all SAT and ACT but allow you to choose which SAT IIs to send, other variations. In other words, many colleges, by reacting anally to College Board’s adoption of score choice in rejecting it, have created a morass of rules that simply create complete confusion and you will have to do your best to find out what any particular college requires, including in many cases actually calling them because many have been ambiguous on the requirements on their websites.

Thanks, drusba. I’m not sure how I missed that clear statement from Yale. The other schools on her list that do not accept score choice are Barnard and Tufts. I see nothing on their websites that suggest they would want both SAT and ACT scores unless the student wanted scores from both agencies considered.
