Hey for the Michigan application do I have to send all my sat and act scores or can I just choose one test for both and send that

I think you have to send all of them, I’m not exactly sure. I’m in a bad situation with my ACT also… two recent times when taking the ACT I was in bad health, though now my health is improving ( slowly) but I’m not sure if I will be able to take the ACT in September! I know horrible, may have to convert to paying for SAT so I can at least get everything in by November 1st, well worth it.

You don’t even have to send both SAT and ACT scores, you could send one ACT or one SAT score and be fine. Even though I personally sent my SAT and ACT scores to Michigan, most of my friends only sent ACT scores and still got in.

You DON’T have to send all of them. It used to be that college board made you send in all your SAT scores, but now you can choose to send only the scores from one specific test date. It’s always been like that for ACT. And you can choose to only send the ACT or only the SAT. And if you have SAT IIs, you can send those in separately without sending in an SAT score. The only reason why someone would ever want to send in multiple SAT scores is if the college superscores (takes the math score from one date and the verbal from another), but Michigan doesn’t, so just take your best composite score and go with it.

Michigan doesn’t have any regulation against score choice. You can send in the scores you want to. Most people I know choose the best ACT and the best SAT or SAT II.

@ CoolBreeze:

What is your highest ACT score now? If you medical condition is serious, I think you are able to arrange for a private adminstrator to give you the ACT at your own convenience.

My ACT score now is horrible, I rather not even say.
My health condition got more serious during 11th grade, though over the summer with more extensive research I was able to self diagnose, and now recovering even more ( though slowly, hopefully recovered well by September). I actually also had a increase visits to the doctors 11th grade, and now they are somewhat finally looking more into my health this summer ( though I’ve found so much out on my own). So I know I won’t be able to arrange for a private adminstrator to give me the ACT since nothing has been solved by the doctors yet ( who would have to somewhat I guess signature for them to allow private adminstration).

Wait… Coolbrezze is still in high school? LOL now I understand his view on parties…

I sent in 2 ACT scores, my first 27, and my second 31. I think they just consider the highest though.

I sent both of my ACT scores in too, because my Composite was higher but my Math and English were lower on my 2nd try. However, they only look at the highest Composite and do not superscore. At orientation, I got a sheet that told me how I did on each of the placement exams and it also listed my ACT score, but only my test with the highest Composite.

Yep, the only reason I sent in both was because I sent in the first one before I actually got the results.

Hi everyone thank you for your help. I was out of town thats why I didnt do this earlier. Also can I send my act scores to them before I send in my actual application ( this goes for all the other colleges I’m applying to as well). I’m just confused how they’ll know where to put the scores since i wont have an application in when I send them.
Thanks!

Yeah I sent in my first ACT score like 5 months ago (March), and my other one in June and I still haven’t applied. Whenever you send them anything (test, recommendation, transcript, actaul app etc) they make a file for you and keep all of your info there. So yeah, you can send in your test scores or any other item in whenever you want.

When you eventually apply, you will be able to log online and check what they have from you, and you should be able to see all of your test scores they have.

You can send one or the other. You don’t need both

Hi everyone I was wondering what score I should send

I got a 2200 on my sat 790 math 740 reading 670 writing
780 on math 2 790 on chem 800 on us history and 760 on biology m

and then for act i got a 35

so what combination of scores would you recommend sending?

If you had to pick 1 send the ACT, definitely. Also UM doesn’t care about SAT IIs

it says that SAT II’s are optional. So, do they factor into the decision at all?
