I'm in the process of sending out my SAT scores to colleges - applications, transcripts etc. are all done.

However, there's one thing I'm wary about. I have a decent SAT score (2070 superscore) but very poor SAT II (Maths II: 600, Physics : 530 ).

I am an international student in Britain patterned education with good A Level grades (AAA). I mentioned my SAT II in the common app and put a note in the personal statement explaining my poor performance was due to the exams being in a very busy time in the school year and did not have sufficient time to revise. I stated that I intend on retaking them in the next international testing date (think it's March)

Now that I'm sending scores, I'm not sure if I should send them tbh. Colleges will never know I'm using score choice and most of them allow score choice for SAT II. I've applied to 20+ colleges so it's impractical to ask each one individually. However, I've already mentioned it in my common app, so don't want to come across as dishonest.

Hi! So what you are asking is a) do I need to send SATII scores along with my SAT scores to colleges that do not allow for score choice and b) will I look dishonest if I don’t send them since I reported taking them on the common app

A) yes, you do need to send them to all schools that do not allow for score choice.

B) I really don’t know. But you should research the test requirements of the 20+ colleges you applied to. Many top schools require two or more SATII’s for admission.

If you told the colleges that do not accept score choice that you took SATII’s, explained in your personal statement why the scores are bad, and then do not send them, yes they will know and yes it will hurt you. Don’t lie on college applications or to college admissions officers. If it is serious enough, your acceptance can be rescinded.

sorry for the double post but I want to add that most US colleges do not accept March SAT scores…so for the colleges that you applied to that require 2 SATII scores you are going to have to send those scores regardless of whether or not they allow score choice. Good luck!
