I am very interested in applying Early Action to the University of Chicago. I am using the Common Application to submit my application. This is where Ive run into a problem. Up to date, my test scores are not where I want them to be. Early Action is due on November 2nd. If I write down my current scores on the Common Application to submit to the University of Chicago, can I edit those scores later when I am applying to other colleges? Ive heard two stories on this. One, the Common Application can accommodate many different versions of a students application. If this is true, what are the steps to make this true? Two, there is nothing I can do when Ive submitted the application to any school. I want to have my higher scores show for the round of Regular Decision. Thanks in advance.

Well, colleges look at the score report sent from CollegeBoard more closely. The scores your self-report aren’t that important.

You can’t “edit” the Common Application once you send it in. The self-report scores don’t matter much anyways; UChicago will only care once College Board sends them the official score report, in which case, simply just send them your new scores once they come out.

Yes. But I do not want to write down my current scores for all collegs I apply to. My SAT will improve dramatically and I want that to be shown in Regular Decision. But, if I submit my application early to University of Chicago, I have to write down some type of score. That’s the issue here.

tell them your current scores and in the space provided for test dates, indicate the future date you will be testing. also, in the additional info section, mention that you will be testing on such and such date and will have the scores sent directly to Chicago.
