Score Choice Question

I read on here that you don't have to send your SAT score(s) if you choose to only send ACT score(s). The logic being is that you are only reporting from one company. However, the website does not make this distinction so is this a fallacy or truth? Thanks

I agree that Penn’s stated policy on this is somewhat ambiguous:

[Required Testing for Freshmen Applicants - Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/freshman-admission/required-testing)

I can understand how this reasonably could be interpreted either way: (1) that you are to choose to submit EITHER the SAT combination OR the ACT (even if you’ve taken both), and then submit all of the testing history for that choice (i.e., only the scores from that company); or (2) that you are required to submit all scores from both companies IF you’ve taken those tests, but are only required to take the tests offered by one company.

So my recommendation is that you either submit all scores from BOTH companies, or contact the Admissions Office for clarification.

The policy is ambiguous as stated (the same question has arisen here several times in the past, as you’ve indicated), and the Admissions Office should be prepared to clarify it–and, in my opinion, should make it clearer on the web site.
