Score Choice question

For schools that require you to send all your testing (do not participate in Score Choice), but say they will accept either the ACT or SAT, can I only submit all my ACTs, and my 2 subject tests, and not send any SATs? The two schools in question are Cornell and Columbia.

That’s a toughie, eh? Is selecting OUT just the SAT IIs considered “Score Choice”? I don’t know, my D decided to send ALL of both. But I don’t know the “ethics” involved. Most say they won’t know anyway. Not that you’re trying to do something wrong…you’re actually trying to do your best…while still following the rules. So…maybe it’s like a legal situation. Until there is a ruling…you have a “position”. “I sent the ACT, and the SAT IIs, as required. I did not send the SAT I, because it is not required. That does not constitute “Score Choice”, as described by…?”

Good luck and bump for ya.

You could call and ask each college directly, if there’s any ambiguity in their instructions. Some colleges (Pomona and Yale, e.g.) make it very clear that you cannot do what you suggested. If you want to rely on any type of SAT exam scores, you must send them all. My D decided to forego sending some great SAT subject test scores so that the adcom would see only her consistently strong ACT scores.
