Hello
So I understand that UPenn and Yale are really the only "elite" schools that don't permit score choice on SAT Subject Tests. I got a 780 on Chemistry in June of my sophomore year. However, I was dumb at the time and incorrectly thought that colleges looked for 800s. So I retook Chemistry in October of my junior year and got a... 730! Now, I realize that retaking a 780 appears rather pushy to colleges, but I don't want to lie on the score choice feature.

My Question: Will Penn see that DATES I took each subject test? Or will it only see the fact that I got a 730 and 780 on Chemistry?

They evidently see the dates, since the dates matter – more typically in situations where the test was taken at two times widely apart (e.g. sophomore and senior years).

But why does it matter? The ethics of the situation is clear? You need to send all scores.

It matters because I want to know whether the colleges will see the dates, which will significantly impact my chances, not because I will change a specific course of action
It’s like a “chance” thread or a “will I get in with this final SAT thread” – you can’t change your grades/extracurrics/SAT score, but you CAN get an idea of your chances at a certain college

i highly doubt that your admission results of whatever schools you apply to will be significantly affected exclusively by this.

Thanks for the input, fogcity and Excavalier!
To be clear, I’m targeting the programs at Penn that are statistically the hardest to get into: Vagelos LSM with Wharton as my single-school option

Hey Promotional I can’t respond to pm’s so I tried to shoot you an email. Otherwise you can email me at breama@wharton.upenn.edu with your questions!
