Score Choice?

Okay, I know score choice is a very talked-about topic, but I had a question...

I imagine there are some members here who, like me, took the ACT and/or SAT before their junior year to practice. For example, my parents wanted me to take it starting in 8th grade through sophomore year just to "get a feel" for the tests. I therefore didn't study for them, because with score choice I thought these scores wouldn't matter. However, now that some schools are asking that an applicant send all of their scores, I'm a little concerned since my 8th grade scores are obviously lower than my junior year scores (by 7 pts on the ACT).
I only took the SAT I once as a freshman and would obviously rather not send that score, as I decided to stick with the ACT and only took SAT IIs after that, but will my SAT I score be sent along with the subject tests?

Basically my question is, do you think I would be penalized for leaving out the tests that I took nonchalantly before junior year? On one hand I don't think it's fair that we should have to, but at the same time I don't want to go against the wishes of the admissions office... o_o. Thanks for any input!

I think in this case you should contact the admissions offices of the colleges you’re interested in. That seems very strange to me… here, at least, you can only take the SAT your Junior year. Hmm. Are you going to take the SAT again as a Junior? Best wishes…

Hmm, that’s interesting about the SAT, I must have been able to take it by mistake- my dad had lined it up for me so I don’t know what he did, I’ll look into it. Either way the issue with the ACT is still there, thanks for your advice!

They will realize that you were young when the see the dates. They will not be upset about low scores if you were taking in 8th or 9th grade. Don’t worry about it.

Ivy League colleges think they have some false sense of entitlement when it comes to SAT scores.

Frankly, colleges won’t know when you employ score choice, that is the beauty of the system.

Just hide all of your scores since they will never know.

Thank you, Anonymous? and IntangibleGator!!

I don’t know about 9th grade and later but scores for 8th grade and before will not be reported. Many kids took SAT to get in special educational program like CTY and I remember College Board specifically said that scores from certain age will not be reported when you are older applying to colleges.
